Requirements to be a Substitute Teacher 

• Applicant must be over 18 years old.
• Applicant must have at least 64 semester hours of college credit.
• Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.45 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

After completing this online application, please pick up a "CERTIFIED SUBSTITUTE TEACHER PACKET" available at Central Office, located at 28 N. Fort Thomas Avenue, Fort Thomas, KY. This packet contains information needed to have a complete application. Packets will also be available at the training session.

New substitute teacher applicants must attend a mandatory 3-hour training session before they can be added to our active substitute list. For more information, please reach out to Alesha Meyn, HR Coordinator, at alesha.meyn@fortthomas.kyschools.us or by phone at 859 815 2030. 

 

As of 10/20/2020 the Certified Substitute Teacher rates have INCREASED!

 

Current Teacher Certification $125 (additional $15)

Bachelor’s Degree or Above $110 (additional $15)

64 – 128 College Hours $95 (additional $15)
